When kids receive the right help early, treatment is more effective! |
About Us
MindPeace began as a project of the Junior League of Cincinnati (JLC) in 2002 to answer a significant need for an improved system of mental health care for children in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Hundreds of JLC volunteers devoted thousands of volunteer hours to develop a model for a seamless system of children's mental health and wellness with the help of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and many other community partners. |
|
In 2007, the JLC launched MindPeace as its own non-profit because no other mental health organization focused on systemic improvements to children's mental health access and quality and in response to the demand from the collaborative network of providers and other stakeholders which had been developed through the work of MindPeace. The mission of MindPeace is to advocate for access to high quality mental healthcare for all children in Greater Cincinnati.
Accomplishments
- MindPeace is improving service delivery to individuals and families through the empowerment of the customer community, the agreement by school based mental health services providers to measure their performance, and the overall collaboration of the MindPeace team. Lead mental health partners are providing services in 47 Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) community learning centers, Oak Hills School District, Wyoming School District and St.Bernard-Elmwood Place City Schools.
- Development and improvement of the infrastructure for the community learning center community and the mental health provider (contractual tools, training infrastructure, communication network, business building techniques, etc.).
- Measurement and analysis of agreed upon outcomes and expansion of measurement. This resulted in the first ever shared mental health outcome reported by CPS.
- Technical assistance available to partners to meet financial challenges and develop cost models for sustainability.
